Established in September 1981, the Computing Center (CC) of Soochow University (SU) aims to provide the faculty, staffs, and students with a good computing environment for teaching, research, and administration.
The Center has three divisions, the system development division, the network & maintenance division, and the administration & consultation division. The network division and the administration division are responsible for providing the infrastructure services, computer hardware & software, campus network services, consulting services, and IT-training courses. The system division assists the school in offering the quality software system campus wide. Computerizing administrative affairs of schools with new technology.
We offer high-speed networking infrastructure (1000 Mbps) inter-buildings and campuses. By combining the fast networking, the easy-access, and other facilities Computer labs, our mission is to meet the teaching, learning and research needs for the university community. Systems under development include: Single entry websites of information (Portal), authentication mechanism of the identity (IC card), Documentation Management systems, Accounting and payroll systems, Human resources systems, educational administration systems, etc.
Integrating school information systems, promoting online school services and apply IT to provide innovative services to simplify administrative processes is the Center’s main mission recently. Hopefully all members of the University can access those services no matter when or where they are in the near future.
