Following its reactivation in Taiwan, the University now has more than 70,000 alumni in just about all walks of life. They are highly praised for their expertise, their devotion to work, and their contribution to the communities in which they live. Scattered all over the world, there are 26 domestic and overseas regional associations as well as 20 departmental alumni groups and classmate unions. To increase the alumni's attachment to their alma mater, the school has been actively providing channels of communication between them and the school.

　　The Soochow Alumni Newsletter, issued semi-annually, is one of the major channels. Also, time and again the various alumni associations are visited and activities conducted to keep them informed about the University's recent developments, to grow relationships and increase interactions among the school, its alumni and its present students. Most recently, Internet web sites have been set up to coordinate the services and provide the alumni all-time instant channels of communication.
