Language Center was established in the year 1965. Since then, the center has been playing an important role in training students' English speaking and listening abilities. The courses were conducted by teaching assistants at the time, applying teaching skills like drama performance, street interview, presentation, speech, and games to make English learning an interesting and fun experience.

In 2002 academic year, the entire teaching faculty was moved to Department of English Language and Literature. Language Center then transformed its mission to three, management of the Self-access Learning Laboratory and activities, administration of foreign language teaching classes and maintenances of multiple-function computerized language labs.
