The effects of social group work have been experiencing by many social worker and social group work practice will bring more effective results for the social work professionalization in the future. In Taiwan, social group work practice stared in hospital in 1971. This artical will first introduce the meaning of social group work, and social work environment in medical settings. i.e. the feasibility for social group work practice; then, base on the group examples publishing in Taiwan, the author discuss the function, goals, typology, process, program design and evaluation of groups. Finally, the author give suggestions in 1 ) Educational and Program, 2) Understanding the Needs, 3) Self-encourgment, and  4) Group Evaluation.
