Abstract
Virginia Woolf’s works were simply viewed as extraordinary literature by the public and the scholars. Her insightful critiques on politics, society and culture were not taken seriously. Until 1970s, the rise of radical feminism first brought up the concept of the connection between patriarchy and gender inequality, helped opened up a new way of interpreting politics, also contributed more and more feminists to go back to research the political thinking within her works. This paper would like to introduce the political thinking within Woolf’s works, also discuss and defend for her most controversial point——the connection between “war” and “patriarchy”. In the mean time, the differences of antiwar position among the traditional International relations theory would be raised, especially between the feminist approaches to international relations and Virginia Woolf’s. Through the reinterpretation of her works, Woolf’s uniqueness of antiwar discourse is represented.
